Chemeon Surface Technologies is offering training classes in aluminum anodizing and trivalent conversion coating throughout 2026.

Aluminum Anodizing Class
The two-day aluminum anodizing class, developed by instructors with strong industrial experience and a science background, provides participants with a broad overview of the aluminum anodizing industry and its history. It will also cover process capabilities and limitations, as well as the benefits of process control.
The course will be held April 21-22, July 7-8, Sept 22-23, and Nov 17-18. The course outline includes:
Day 1 Program
- Chemeon Technology Center (Tech Center) Tour, Course Overview, and Introduction
- Preprocessing: Handling and Inspection, Aluminum Alloys, Mechanical Finishing, and Racking.
- Pretreatment: Cleaning, Etching, Bright Dipping, Deoxidizing, and Racking.
- Anodizing: Definition, Process of Oxide Formation, Types of Anodizing, Chemeon and Anodize Control, Surface Area Calculations, Factors Contributing to Oxide Characteristics, and Facility Requirements
- Post Treatment: Electrolytic Color, Dye, and Seal.
Day 2 Program
- Quality Control and Troubleshooting
- Anodizing Applications
- IPC: General Information
The second half of day two is devoted to anodizing in the Tech Center laboratory. Chemeon will provide representative aluminum samples for anodizing and discussion. Long pants, closed toe shoes and safety glasses are required for the lab session.
Trivalent Conversion Coating Class
The course consists of one full training day at Chemeon’s Technology Center. The focus of this course is to provide participants with a broad range of information on the trivalent chromate conversion process and the benefits of process control.
The trivalent conversion coating dates are April 23, July 9, Sept 24, and Nov 19. The course outline includes:
