Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and Close: Identify customer needs among OEMs and metal finishers, delivering tailored CHEMEON solutions for electroplating, conversion coatings, anodizing, and fasteners on aluminum and light metals.
- Field Expertise: Conduct on-site visits across the West Coast to discuss customer needs, discuss/demo products, troubleshoot applications, and work with clients to optimize their processes with chemistry and process solutions.
- Relationship Mastery: Leverage your established network with OEMs, Tier 1 facilities and independent finishers to expand market share and secure long-term partnerships.
- Technical Leadership: Experience and a deep understanding of electroplating, POP, conversion coatings and anodizing. Provide expert guidance on surface finishing innovations, from chromate-free alternatives to high-performance pretreatments, ensuring clients achieve specification standards and sustainable results.
Core Attributes of Our Ideal Candidate
- Expert Knowledge: Deep, hands-on mastery of electroplating processes (e.g., zinc-nickel, trivalent chrome, plating on plastic), conversion coatings (e.g., chromate, non-chromate), anodizing (Type II/III on aluminum), and fastener-specific treatments for aluminum, steel, titanium and magnesium. Proven track record in solving real-world challenges.
- Sales Acumen: 5+ years of proven technical sales success within metal finishing or coatings, with a hunter's instinct for uncovering opportunities and closing deals.
- Relationship Builder: Existing contact list of West Coast OEMs and finishers; exceptional communicator who translates complex chemistry into compelling value propositions.
- Mobility & Integrity: Willing to travel 70-80% (primarily CA, WA, OR, AZ, NM); valid driver's license and vehicle required. Clean background check mandatory.
- Mindset: Hands on Surface finishing expertise, Self-starter with a passion for sustainable solutions, technical curiosity, and resilience in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
