Gizmo Engineering introduces its current density gauge for anodizing.
The Current Density Gauge allows one operator to anodize at a known current density, even if the area of the parts is unknown. It works by mounting on the bus bar along with parts to be anodized. Since the aluminum plate is actually being anodized, the reading provides a true measurement of current density on your parts, not a theoretical value.
When the operator establishes the current density they want on the gauge, they then set the rectifier to maintain this current density constantly for the duration of the cycle.
Anodizing at constant current density results in improved and consistent anodized film quality. In addition, it saves time because the run-time of the load can be accurately determined using the Gizmo phone App. (based on the 720 rule) This eliminates guessing at when to pull work and check thickness.
