Matthew Wilson Joins Ronatec as Engineering Intern

Ronatec welcomed engineering intern Matthew Wilson to its team.

Wilson is a student at Grand Canyon University, majoring in engineering with an emphasis in project management.

Wilson says he was drawn to Ronatec for the opportunity to apply academic knowledge in a fast-paced, real-world environment. He says they have quickly immersed themself in hands-on projects and collaborative problem-solving.

Since joining Ronatec, Wilson has contributed to creating detailed client data packages, streamlining inventory integration and organizing their new facility, programmed and launched CNC engraving and carving capabilities, and developed start-up/shutdown procedures for preventive maintenance plans and spare parts lists for a range of client systems.

Wilson has worked closely with Ronatec’s lead engineer and facility team, taking an active role in supporting Ronatec’s chemical process projects worldwide.

“This internship has shown me the gravity of the technical work behind every engineering project and allowed me to apply what I’ve learned in class to real industry challenges,” Wilson says. “It’s helped me grow not only technically, but also in my confidence and communication within a professional team.”

As part of its commitment to supporting young talent, Ronatec will work with Wilson to help him secure a job placement locally near Grand Canyon University when he returns in the fall.

“We're proud to be part of his professional journey and look forward to seeing all he accomplishes,” says Jim Wetherald, Ronatec’s president.

Since 1979, Ronatec has supplied chemicals, equipment, and related services to a diverse range of industries, including the finishing sector. It is located in San Diego County and currently has warehouse facilities in San Jose, Orange County, San Diego, as well as in Oriskany, New York, Cleveland, Ohio, Denver, Colorado, and Portland, Oregon.
